The METAflux project started on the 1st of October 2012 and ran until the end of September 2014. The project consists or several elements including an intensive training period in the first six months which included courses in the use of hyperspectral remote sensing.

In summer 2013, fieldwork was carried out on several sites in Abisko including: Stordalen; Storflaket and Tornetrask. Difficulties in capturing data during periods of continuous cloud cover meant that the course of the project was altered. The aquisition of high resolution multipspectral Worldview2 data in late 2013 and declassified military aerial images from 1943 refocused the project on examining change on Stordalen mire over a 70-years period. These data are yielding some interesting results and a manuscript is in preparation. Several presentations have been delievered on the topic at a number of international conferences.
